This is the time of year for ALL our anniversaries: our first date, engagement and wedding. We have celebrated all these meaningful dates, and really made the effort to put thought into capturing the themes each year.
We got married four years ago, so the wedding anniversary now takes precedence, of course. These are some super-cute gift ideas that captured the annual themes so perfectly.
First Anniversary- Paper.
We spent our first anniversary in Italy, which was pretty exciting and memorable! We did plenty of things there to celebrate, so did our gift exchange (and first year cake eating) before we left.

Framing Something Special. I love the idea of framing a special photo of the two of you; and what could be more special than this sketch we had done in Paris on the trip when we got engaged?? I spent some extra money to get a very nice frame, and I love seeing this every day in our office.

Wall hanging of when we met, got engaged and married! This was so special! The dates and locations of each of these times in our lives is commemorated on this adorable poster.

Personalized Anniversary Album. This is a cute idea. For each year, you add photos and write about things you did together that year.

For a first year anniversary, I also love the idea of having a special dinner at the restaurant where you first met! We were away this time, but for our first year ‘meetaversary’ this is what we did, and it was so much fun (we met at a casino….so).

Second Anniversary- Cotton.
Blanket with photos on it. Isn’t this fun? You can find places online that do this pretty easily. I made sure to capture a wide variety of photos of us with each other and with family through the years.

T shirts. My husband lives in them, so I got a cute “I ♥️ Chipotle” (he loves Chipotle) t- shirt. I also got a gift card to turn his t-shirts into a quilt!
There are places that do this (like this website), and we have been struggling with where to house the millions of concert t-shirts he owns. It’s a great way to save them without taking up a ton of space.
We wear these t-shirts on our anniversary every year! Ha!

Third Anniversary- Leather.
Pens. Here’s the funny thing…my husband and I both searched Amazon for “third anniversary gifts” (because this is a hard one, honestly), and both got each other these pens!! 🤣

A Leather journal is the perfect accompaniment to the pen. Especially for those of us who love to journal (see my post on this), but it can be useful for any special notes even for those who aren’t regular writers.
Candle with Leather Scent. Unlike the other anniversary themes, leather has its own distinctive smell that can be captured in a candle! I LOVE candles and use them every day, so this was a perfect, useful and creative gift all in one! Check it out here.
Fourth Anniversary-Fruit and Flowers.
This is a gift right up my alley, because flowers die and fruit gets eaten…so no little trinkets or items to keep on a shelf forever.
I, of course, received beautiful flowers for this anniversary. He’s been getting me a bunch of red roses, which are gorgeous and classic, as well as a bunch of sunflowers to brighten up the house. Perfect!
Alcohol Infusions.

This was a great present for me. I’ve mentioned that I enjoy my cocktails (See my post on cocktail stations!), so he got me some packs of these interesting flavors to infuse my vodka.
Other suggestions for 4th anniversary gifts are:
Quality spices, like a masala daba for Indian flavors, or dry rubs for grilling.
An Edible Arrangement. I got this for my daughter one year for her birthday and she loved it. I love this one below with the festive fall theme!

Ornament. I got this for my husband this year. I love ornaments, because they mark special occasions, are fun to see every Christmas on the tree, and can get easily packed away when the season is over!

Staying at a Hotel and Eating Chocolate Covered Strawberries. Yep, we did this too! I was able to order champagne and strawberries to be waiting in the room when we arrived! If you don’t have that option, hide them in your bag and bring them along!

Looking forward to our Fifth Anniversary next year! Do you have some memorable anniversary gifts you would like to share for years one through four, or much higher?
I’d love to hear them!
